Direa Tablets
Antidiarrhoeal tablets for cats and dogs.
Action
It is a complexing agent that absorbs toxins but also absorbs water to form a gel.
Crospovidone is chemically and biologically inert.
Indications
Direa can be used as an aid in the management of diarrhoea caused by disorders of osmosis, secretion, permeability or mobility, brought about by infectious agents, food poisoning, dietary changes and bacterial overgrowth. It is not a mobility modulator.
Direa tablets can be used alone, or in conjunction with antibiotics and fluid and electrolyte therapy. Rehydration therapy should not be neglected.
Special Precautions
Veterinary advice should be sought for animals that exhibit signs of illness other than diarrhoea, including blood-stained faeces, or if diarrhoea persists after 3 days of treatment with this product.
Storage Conditions and Other Information
Store below 30°C (room temperature). Protect from light and moisture.
Dosage and Administration
Dogs

1 tablet/10-20kg body weight
|
Cats
|
1/4 tablet/2.5-5kg body weight
|
Give the recommended dose twice daily for 2-4 days or until symptoms disappear.
Ensure animal has adequate fluids.

Each tablet contains 1000 mg Crospovidone

This product is exempt under the ACVM (Exemptions and Prohibited Substances) Regulations 2011 and Amendments and subject to the conditions of Schedule 2, Part B(18) for the Non-Medicated Antidiarrhoeal Preparations
